Alexis Kerr provides practical, business-driven and results-oriented advice and assistance to clients in all industries where privacy, data protection and cybersecurity are ongoing and ever-evolving challenges.
Alexis has 18+ years’ experience, as both external counsel and General Counsel, advising organizational clients on compliance with applicable privacy laws, data mapping, developing privacy impact assessments and security threat risk assessments, developing privacy management programs, policies, procedures and tabletop exercises, employee training and education, investigating and managing data and cybersecurity breach incidents, developing and implementing enterprise risk management strategies, and litigating privacy-related issues before both privacy regulators and the courts. In terms of data breach incidents, she has handled everything from inadvertent disclosure, data loss and employee snooping cases to malicious phishing and ransomware attacks. She also advises on compliance with Canada’s Anti-SPAM Law (CASL) and PCI Data Security Standards.
Alexis is Past Chair of the Privacy and Access Law Section, Canadian Bar Association (CBA). She has authored or co-authored numerous submissions to the federal and provincial governments regarding proposals to reform privacy and access laws. She has also appeared before the Senate of Canada’s Standing Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs on behalf of the CBA in connection with that Committee’s review of proposed amendments to federal privacy and access legislation.

David Fraser is well-known as one of Canada’s leading internet, technology and privacy lawyers. He regularly advises a range of clients – from startups to Fortune 100 companies – on all aspects of technology and privacy laws.
David advises private and public sector clients to implement compliance programs for Canadian privacy legislation. He regularly provides opinions on privacy laws for both Canadian and international clients and is a frequently invited speaker on this topic. David also acts for complainants and respondents in matters referred to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner. He is the author of the popular Canadian Privacy Law Blog (blog.privacylawyer.ca) and Canadian Cloud Law Blog (cloudlawyer.ca). David’s Privacy Law Blog was awarded a “Clawbie” in 2013 by the Canadian Law Blog Awards. David is also ranked in the Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory. David is widely recognized as one of Canada’s foremost authorities on privacy law and other legal issues associated with cloud computing. Suzanne L. Morin, Vice-President, Enterprise Conduct, Data Ethics and Chief Privacy Office
As Vice-President, Enterprise Conduct, Data Ethics and Chief Privacy Officer, Suzanne is responsible for overall privacy leadership at Sun Life and its subsidiaries worldwide. Her mandate includes the company’s Code of Conduct program and evolving standards for ethical use of data. Suzanne’s prior roles include leading the legal team in Quebec and compliance for IT.
Before joining Sun Life in 2015, Suzanne spent more than 20 years working in the communications industry, for businesses such as Bell Canada and BlackBerry.
A passionate believer in giving back to the community, Suzanne is actively involved with many organizations including the Canadian Bar Association’s National Privacy and Access Law Section and MediaSmarts, a leader in media and digital literacy. Suzanne served as an appointed member of the Board of the Standards Council of Canada for over a decade.
Suzanne has appeared before parliamentary and legislative committees, speaks frequently at Canadian and international conferences, and is an Advisory Board Member and occasional contributor to the Internet and E-commerce Law in Canada and the Canadian Privacy Law Review.
Suzanne is always physically active, walking and working in the yard, loves jigsaw puzzles and coffee. She has a son and husband and divides her time between Ottawa and Montreal.

Kristin Ali, Corporate Counsel, Enterprise Holdings Inc.
As Corporate Counsel for Enterprise Holdings, Kristin advises on global data protection issues impacting the mobility industry. She has extensive experience negotiating complex commercial contracts involving data and regularly advises on employee, franchisee, risk and compliance issues relating to privacy and cybersecurity.
Prior to her in-house role, Kristin worked in the privacy and litigation groups of two Canadian national law firms, advising emerging and established companies on privacy risks in M&A transactions, how to respond in the wake of a data breach, and on litigation matters involving technology-related disputes. Kristin also practiced for many years in the United States as a litigator, representing public and private organizations in litigation, arbitration, and government investigations relating to data security breaches and securities fraud.
Throughout her career, Kristin has contributed to several pro bono matters, diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, and the academic community. She has worked on pro bono projects relating to homelessness and LGBTQ+ issues, and represented asylum seekers and incarcerated individuals on constitutional matters. She is the former Co-Chair of Osler’s South Asian Network and co-founder of the organization. She a former member of the adjunct faculty of Osgoode Hall Law School where she taught an upper-year seminar on contractual remedies for many years. Kristin begun her legal career, clerking for Justices Doherty, MacPherson, Juriansz and LaForme of the Court of Appeal for Ontario.
Kristin is currently a member of the Board of Directors for CAN-TECH.
